Description

The purpose of the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) program is to increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses). The program uses comprehensive, evidence-based strategies to provide more inclusive and culturally aligned nursing education environments that will support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Please refer to the Bureau of Health Workforce Glossary for program terms applicable to this Notice of Funding Opportunity (i.e., disadvantaged background, underrepresented minority). These types of domestic* organizations may apply. •Public institutions of higher education •Private institutions of higher education •Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) IRS status •Nonprofits with an IRS status other than 501(c)(3) •State and local governments, including the District of Columbia, domestic territories, and freely associated states •County governments •City, local, or township governments •Special district governments •Independent school districts •Native American tribal governments •Native American tribal organizations “Domestic” means located in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. Individuals are not eligible applicants under this NOFO.
